Lori's Wishes
Donation protected
Lori devoted her life to her two children and she recently shared her three wishes with us. Two of the three came true near the end of her life. This is a fund raiser to help make her third wish come true.
First a bit about Lori's life. She graduated at the top of her field in dental hygiene and spent 37 years at the same dental practice. She loved her patients and built deep, meaningful relationships with them and her colleagues over the years. It was her home away from home. Her wishes upon her passing from cancer on January 27 were to continue to take care of her family. Her daughter Iman is in her last semester in nursing school and her son recently graduated with his business degree and welcomed the birth of his first child. She took pride in her work and got tremendous joy out of serving others.
Lori's first wish came true when she got to briefly hold her first grandchild, Lillian. Lillian was born on January 15. Lori chose the name because it means child of God. Her son Derek and daughter-in-law Holly named their child Lillian to honor Lori.
Lori's second wish to see her daughter Iman graduate from Nursing School was fulfilled on January 23. Wayne State University came to Beaumont Hospital in full graduation regalia to grant that wish 4 days before she passed. We were deeply grateful to the Dean and program director, along with the Oncology unit staff for making it possible. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Her final wish was to help Iman and Derek with their student loans to ensure they got a good start in life.
In lieu of flowers, the family decided to try and make her 3rd wish come true. We welcome any donation to help support Lori's final wish.
