Lori Brooks and her family
Donation protected
Lets rally around our sweet Lori and her family. As many of you know, Lori was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Over the past week (while in the ICU) she has had an inflamed colon, severe abdominal pain, been on broad spectrum antibiotics, a small abscess was detected and a micro perforation on her intestines.
Thankfully a medical team assessed her situation and was able to insert a drain, which seems to be now working but the healing will be slow. She was released from the ICU after 6 rough days and will be meeting with a team of Doctors and Physical Therapists to help her gain strength and retain her well being. To make matters more difficult, Lori has also experienced a devastating house fire.
This Gofundme will be a good way to help the family deal with medical expenses, insurance deductibles and other unforeseeable expenses.
A letter from Lori’s daughters:
Two weeks ago tragedy struck our family. Our dad passed away and our family home was burned in a fire. That same day our mom, Lori, had emergency surgery for a bowel abscess and perforation. She had a second surgery on Thursday where doctors had to perform a colostomy. In 6 months, the doctors plan to go back in and attempt to reconnect her intestines.
God blessed us with incredible friends and family and we could not be more grateful for the love, support and prayers during this very difficult time for our family.
Our mom has always prayed for God to use everything she’s been through for His purposes, for good, to help others. She is the strongest, most selfless and giving woman we know. She is the first to offer help, and the last to ask for it.
“One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else's survival guide.”
These are words she lives by.
We appreciate any donations immensely as these will aid in our mom’s recovery & healing, medical bills and rebuilding her life & the house.
All our love,
Sarah & Callie
