Loombands and Lemonade for Dementia UK
No one, it seems, is immune from the devastating impact of dementia, even seven year olds. My little niece recently lost someone she knew well to dementia. She had a lot of questions about it, and as she has been processing her sadness and grief in her own little seven year old ways, she started to ask what she could do to help. We reminded her about charities and how they help, and said we could donate some money to a dementia charity in the family friend's honour.
For those that have kids you may be aware of the current "loom band craze", and if you haven't heard of it, believe me it's a thing! So my niece said that she wanted to make some to sell, to raise more money for Denentia UK. She's already done some door-to-door knocking near her dad's house, so now she wants to step it up a notch!
So tomorrow she (and probably I!) will be outside our home in Capel-Le-Ferne from 1200 (when the rain is forecast to clear) with a little table selling lemonade and loom bands. Anyone dog walkers that would like to purchase a drink or a band will also get a free tennis ball for their dog
As we've had a few people indicate they'd like to donate but can't attend in person, I've put this page together to see if we can raise even a pound or two more. Thank you in advance!
