Long-term Support for Kildare and Rebeca’s Family

Nine years ago, Kildare’s life changed forever. On his way to work, he suffered a devastating accident when he fell from his bike after hitting a hole in the bike lane, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. In their search for justice, Kildare and his wife Rebeca fought a long legal battle against the city, but sadly they lost the lawsuit.

But now, their journey has grown even more difficult. Rebeca, who has been the family’s pillar, dedicating herself fully to Kildare’s care and their children, is now battling skin cancer and has also been diagnosed with severe burnout — leaving her physically and emotionally overwhelmed.

On top of this, the family’s only car — essential for Kildare’s mobility and medical visits — is no longer safe. The ramp has been damaged by his wheelchair, and the seatbelts that secure the chair in place are broken and urgently need repair to ensure his safety during transport.

By coming together to support Kildare and Rebeca, we can provide the relief they urgently need!

Why Running This Fundraiser for a Year

Kildare and Rebeca’s needs are not short-term. Their monthly expenses are approximately $5,000, and with Rebeca unable to work while caring full-time for Kildare and the children, their financial challenges are ongoing.

This fundraiser will remain open through the last months of 2025 and all of 2026 so that friends, family, and supporters can contribute over time. Our goal is to provide the family with stability for at least one year of expenses, giving them the chance to focus on health, safety, and healing instead of constant financial stress.
