Running from London to Spain in memory of my Grandmother
Donation protected
Dear all,
My name is Henry, and I’m a 19-year-old student taking on a run from The Royal Marsden and Brompton Hospitals in London to Santiago de Compostela in Spain with a total distance of over 680km! This is to raise a goal of £5000 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and The Royal Brompton Fountain- the charities of the hospitals that looked after my grandmother so amazingly, and do remarkable work every day.
In December, my beloved grandma, Margaret Daubeney, lost her battle to cancer. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and pulmonary hypertension in 2014, and battled with this courageously for 10 years. Grandma was truly an inspiration to everyone around her- still smiling and even dancing from her hospital bed through the cancer. Her admirable strength and mindset of ‘mind-over-matter’ has inspired me to take on this run. We are so thankful to both the Royal Brompton Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital- they took such amazing care of her and we want to support them in their lifesaving work .
I’m fundraising for both of these hospitals to help support patients and aid the incredible care these hospitals give, the same way they did for Grandma.
If you’d like to follow me on my journey I will be providing updates on my Strava and Instagram! Thank you all for your support- it means the world,
Henry
