Hello everyone,

My name is Laura and I am running the London Marathon 2026, raising money for Dementia UK & Lyme Disease UK.

Both of these charities are very close to my heart and have affected my family personally.

Dementia affects 1 in 14 people over 65 in the UK. Watching those you love go through dementia and the impact it has on those around them is something no one should have to deal with. Too many people I know have had to watch someone slowly fade away in front of them. Dementia UK provides admiral nurses to families affected by dementia. The positive impact this has on families who are caring for people with dementia and knowing you are not alone in this difficult journey is truly astounding.

Lyme Disease UK provides patient support and raises awareness of the disease. The charity has and still are a great support for my family member who unfortunately fell ill after contracting Lyme Disease from a tick and has suffered with Chronic Lyme Disease since, continuing to battle against it 10 years on. Lyme disease if not treated early enough can affect someone’s life forever and there is no cure...yet. I hope one day we can find a cure for them and so many others impacted by this.

Both of these charities do amazing work and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
