In 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon — 26.2 miles through the streets of London — and I’m incredibly proud to be running with a charity place for Harry’s Fund.
Harry’s Fund was set up by the friends and family of Harry Bates. Harry was born on 11th February 2008 and, at just 12 weeks old, was diagnosed with Cri du Chat Syndrome — a rare genetic condition that causes severe mental and physical disabilities along with challenging behaviour.
The charity was created to raise awareness of Cri du Chat Syndrome and other rare genetic disorders, more importantly, to provide real support to families living with their condition.
Harry's Fund support a special needs school in Hessle supporting 160 children with various disabilities, and other schools, individuals and support groups supporting children and adults with rare disabilities.
The vast majority of what we raise goes exactly where it’s needed most.
As part of my charity place, I have committed to raising £2,000.
That’s the target — and I’m determined to hit it.
Training for the marathon will take months of consistency, discipline, and hard sessions in all conditions. But every mile I run will be for something far bigger than myself.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it genuinely makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page and supporting the journey means just as much.
Let’s turn 26.2 miles into real support for families living with rare genetic disorders — and together, let’s hit that £2,000 target.
Thank you for your support.
