London Elite - Growing Youths Into Leaders

Hi everyone, my name is Clasford Stirling MBE and I've given over 40yrs of my life to developing the skills of our young people and growing them into the leaders of tomorrow. Me and my qualified team are both committed and consistent in using sport and social activities as the instrument of change and growth for their transformation into the pride of their families and the next great leaders of our community.

We work with the whole ethnic spectrum of diversity within the youth of our vibrant community in Tottenham and aim to give them all an equal opportunity to grow their skills and develop confident personalities at their own pace, in a place of safety and security, surrounded by mature and DBS vetted adults who truly care about them and their families. We treat each young boy or girl as individuals learning to gently integrate into their wider peer groups or successful teams. A key aspect of our success has been prioritising the support we give to the parents of our young participants and they can come to speak with any of about any difficult domestic issues that they may be having around issues like discipline, lack of motivation, bullying or not wanting to go to school, etc.

We start training and encouraging our young people, both boys and girls, from Nursery and Reception class age, right up to 16 and beyond. We offer qualified coaching in Football, Cricket, Basketball, KeepFit/Gym, Badminton and Table Tennis. We also offer a special late night drop-in provision for those young people who may be involved in crime or at risk of being involved in crime, called 'Off The Street, Less Heat'. It warms our heart to see these 'hard-to-reach' youths, playing football, basketball and table tennis, enjoying one another's company, socialising together in the warmth of our community centre, off the street, where they are most at risk of engaging in anti-social activities that are not good for them or the residents of their community. A large part of our fundraising target is to make this a more frequent and longer term provision, as the benefits to our community are so great.

We work on the Broadwater Farm estate, Tottenham, in close partnerships with the officers and councillors of the London Borough of Haringey and the Metropolitan Police, as well as The Football Association, The English Cricket Board and many other local organisations. We also have close ties with both Arsenal and Spurs and over 100 of our young players went on to pursue a professional career, including playing for England. We support and have international links with teams and players in Jamaica, Cyprus, Ghana, Italy and many other places.

We are constituted as a non-profit company limited by guarantee and have three directors at the moment - Me, Clasford Stirling MBE; Terese Molyneaux, who has set this GoFundMe for us and finally, Nigel Norie, our treasurer, who I've been working with for the past 40+ years now, so we are all dedicated and committed to our community and supporting the young people of Haringey and wider afield to become the best that they can become!

We already have a long history and track record of success over the years and have so many trophies that we can't even display them all in one place. We have no intention leaving our base here in the Broadwater Farm Community Centre and intend to keep our pristine record of success going on far into the future and would love if you showed our youth how you too have faith in our capacity to look after them by giving us a donation to help us achieve their dreams and those of their families too.
