As a result of this my friend William and I have both decided we needed a challenge and wanted to raise money for a charity close to our hearts. So we have decided to set ourselves a goal of a long distance bike ride. We will be cycling from London to Paris over four days. Ferry has been booked and we set off from London on the 16th of October 2018.
Bear in mind I have never cycled more than 30 miles before in one session so training has commenced, I am in this to succeed. It is not going to be easy but compared to what my brother and his girlfriend have been through, it’s a challenge we are determined to take on.
The Chestnut Treehouse is the Charity I do this challenge for.
Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire and cares for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-shortening conditions. However, they also help with the bereavement of babies and children. Support is offered whilst planning a funeral, in saying their goodbyes and continues with optional counselling and remembrance events. When Trixie passed, they took her in and allowed my brother and girlfriend to visit any time any day up until the day of her funeral. They were amazing and I truly believe the help and support they gave made their ordeal a little easier.
So please sponsor me, whatever you are able to give as your support would be greatly appreciated.
