Lonakana is a special retreat dedicated to women and children battling cancer. It will provide a peaceful environment to promote healing and brighten spirits at no cost to its guests. Managed by a team of professional caregivers and compassionate volunteers, Lonakana Retreat will offer its guests the chance to rest, relax and make memories. Classes in yoga, meditation, pottery, and jewelry design will be offered at the guest's request. While the majority of the retreat's services are focused on women, designated weekends in the summer will be customized for terminal children and their families.

Corporate donations and sponsorships will pay for the cost of operations, however fundraising is needed to cover the cost of the 64 acre property. The cost will also cover the complete construction of three furnished, handicapped-accessible guest cottages. Each cottage can sleep 4-8 guests. The Lonakana Retreat will be structured as a division of the The Portable Playhouse , an extremely successful certified 501c3 non-profit organization serving 22 hospitals and cancer centers along the East Coast.
