Lola's Legendary Laps

Donation protected
On Wednesday 6th January 2021 Lola complained of a temperature and a sore ankle, a few days on and Lola was diagnosed with Staph Aureus (a type of staphylococcus) resulting in osteomyelitis of her right leg which was treated with a 3+ week stay in hospital (including pretty intrusive surgery!) in both Warwick and Coventry's UHCW hospital.

Lola was looked after fantastically well by all the amazing NHS staff. One of the highlights for a 6-year-old being in hospital for the first time was the toys the wards were able to provide Lola to keep her entertained and her mind off her illness/treatment. The impact of being gifted a new toy brightened her mood so, so much and made her feel cared for and looked after. This wasn't as straight forward as it sounds during current covid times, as the hospitals are reliant on donations of new, packaged and previously untouched toys.

Fast forward to today with Lola being at home (and carrying on treatment from home) she now wants to do something to help ... this is where Lola will be completing her daily "Legendary Lap" for 7 days from Sat 13th Feb to Sat 20th. Lola will be completing as many laps of the garden each day as she can (aided by either a frame or crutches) to continue her physio & in the process would love for you to donate to her efforts where she will use all money raised to buy new toys to gift to the children's wards at both Warwick and UHCW hospitals.

There will be regular updates and pictures of laps being completed to follow Lola's progress and help her to help other young ones during difficult times.
