Hello everyone,
On 3rd June two of our good friends received the news that no parent wants to hear, their beautiful little girl was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma cancer at just two years old.
This is a rare form of cancer that affects the eye. Lola’s parents had noticed a shimmer in her eye, they booked an appointment with their GP the same day, they were then advised to go to the optician that day- who after taking a look at her eye told them to go to Arrowe Park Hospital. After several hours of testing they were advised that there is a mass in Lola’s eye and that they would need to have further testing carried out at Alder Hey Children’s hospital the next day.
Since the diagnosis Lola and her parents have been back and forth between Alder Hey and Birmingham hospital in order that a treatment plan could be devised and get started. Lola is currently undergoing treatment and this means that both her parents are currently unable to work. Any funds raised will therefore help towards bills, essentials and alleviating unnecessary money stress whilst they are focusing on getting Lola better.
Sophie and Ste want to raise awareness for Retinoblastoma and encourage parents to check their children’s eyes and if something doesn’t seem right please go and get them checked.
Thank you for visiting the page and any support is much appreciated.
