Hi my name is Emma and I'm Lola's mum. She is 19 now and in less than two weeks she will be leaving her home in Bristol to embark on her new life at Leeds arts university. She has managed to get a place to study acting for screen. I was reluctant to do this go fund me as it's not life or death. She isn't ill. Both her dad (who doesn't live with us) and myself are of working age but Lola does not have a working laptop. She really does need one and we just can't afford it. We have always had to find the accomodation deposit and first installments. Lola has done so well despite us both not being very well off. She has worked hard to achieve the TOP grease possible at the Bristol school of acting and the. Last year they asked her to come and collect direct the undergraduates. She has a real and special talent for what she wants to do and I know she will make a great success. She isn't lazy and will be getting a job when she gets to Leeds. She has already made a success of the part time waitressing job she has here in a local SRI Lankan restaurant. They have looked after her so well and treat her as family.

I feel a little embarrassed to do doing this but I just thought that perhaps people may donate to the future of this young woman who is turning out to be a really nice human.

She needs a good laptop and all the ones she has had have been second hand or free and they haven't lasted long.

She would use any of the remaining donation for course materials and maybe help her not have to work for the first couple of weeks.

I am confident she will make a success of life and though I'm able to provide the Emotional and practical things she needs.

I just can't afford to get her a laptop.

Of anyone knows of me they know I do try and help where I can and have been giving free legal help for the last 25 years.

I was a qualified barrister and now I use my skills to help others.

Perhaps if I was still a practicing barrister I wouldn't have to ask but I'm now a musician and a tree planter. Which almost pays the bills.

I hope people can share this or give what they can

I would love her to be able to buy a really solid laptop.
