The Pleasantville High School Dance Team Alumni have spearheaded a fundraiser to establish a community memorial and garden in honor of Lois Turnage. This memorial will be placed on west side of Pleasantville, IA, along the current walking trail.

Lois Turnage was a band and music teacher at Pleasantville Elementary and coached the Pleasantville Dance Team for several years. Lois was a champion of dance for the state of Iowa and served on the ISDTA board for nearly 40 years. She was active in her church, and volunteerism is a large part of Lois's legacy.

Lois is a beloved wife, mother, friend, coach, and mentor to many in Pleasantville and across the entire state and country. This memorial will be a beautiful way for this community to honor all that Lois has provided for many.

The Pleasantville Dance Alumni have raised $3,500 and are looking to the community for financial support to complete the memorial. The memorial will be installed Spring of 2023.
