By God’s Grace: A Father’s Mission to Rebuild and Provide

Story:

Hi, my name is Logan Bourbonnais, and I’m a father doing everything I can to provide a safe, loving, and stable home for my four daughters—Paytyn (12), Madylyn (10), Marylyn (6), and Caylyn (almost 4).

Over two years ago, a motorcycle accident turned our world upside down. Our family became separated, and I had to start over—alone, broken, and unsure of what the future held. I moved to Athens with nothing but a prayer and a deep hope that I could rebuild a life my children would be proud of.

And God answered prayers.

Here in Athens, I found a community—men and women who encouraged me, supported me, and helped me begin to heal. Work was offered. Fellowship was found. And with each small step, I felt God’s grace pulling me forward.

Just last week, I received a call that I’ll never forget. My daughters and their mother had been moving from place to place, living in unsafe and unstable environments. Things had gotten so difficult that they ended up in a hotel. That’s when she called me—tired, desperate, and afraid—and asked if I could take the girls full-time.

I said yes without hesitation.

And once again, God made a way. My employer offered me a rental home—a 3-bedroom, 2-bath fixer-upper in a safe neighborhood, with a fenced yard for our dog. The landlord is allowing me to make repairs in place of rent. I’ve also found daycare for the girls so I can return to work as soon as possible.

This all happened so fast, and while I am doing everything I can, the truth is—we’re starting from scratch. No beds. No furniture. Very little food.

This is a moment I prayed for. A moment to serve. A moment to show up for my daughters and give them the stability, safety, and love they’ve longed for. I’m doing my best, but I can’t do it alone.
