Locks for Lara
Donation protected
Lara is 16 and lives in Eastbourne. She is funny, kind, thoughtful and all things wonderfully teenager! Devastatingly, Lara has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma and has just started treatment at the Royal Marsden hospital. We are raising money to give Lara the opportunity to be able to choose a wig that she can be proud of.
Our target is £500 but anything we get over this amount will go towards Lara going on a trip of her choice, art supplies or just a good old rummage around the charity shop (a favourite pastime!) once her battle has been won.
Any donations will be gratefully received.
We also have a petition running calling for the government to review the special considerations policy when a young person is too ill to sit their public examinations. We believe in extreme circumstances, teachers should be able to provide predicted grades for students, meaning they will not miss out on their GCSEs and A-Levels. Although this will not benefit Lara this year, she is passionate about making a change for young people who find themselves in these circumstances in the future.
