Bring the Bridge to Ostional!

(español después) OH MY GOSH - WE DID IT!!!! In less than TWO DAYS, our communities pulled together to raise the funds to bring the bridge to Ostional. I am so proud to be living in a place where something like this can happen. This effort speaks to the tremendous need for this bridge, and also to the strength and resolve and hearts of our neighbors. GRACIAS A TODOS! I will leave this Go Fund Me open for a little while longer for those who wanted to donate, but haven't had the opportunity yet. Any additional funds that we raise will go towards repairing the roads. :-)

There is a bridge for the Ostional River. It is in San Jose. We are still waiting for approval for the funds for construction. Last week, again, this construction was not approved. One of the concerns is that if left in San Jose, this bridge will magically be given for construction in another part of the country. In order to ensure that this bridge comes to Ostional, we are hoping to secure the funds to move it using a private company, and keep the bridge here while we are waiting for the approvals from the Muni. The cost to move the bridge is suprisingly low - for $14,000 we can secure the bridge for safekeeping. The ADIs of Ostional and San Juanillo have committted $3000 to the effort, so we only need to raise another $11,000. This bridge is vital to our communities, and we have waited far too long! Now is the time to bring the bridge to Ostional! THANK YOU for any support you can offer. Our communities need the safety that a bridge over the Ostional River will provide. We have waited long enough!

Estoy muy orgulloso de vivir en un lugar donde algo como esto puede suceder.
