Help relieve financial pressure for Liz and her family

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Zoe and I'd like to ask for some help for some super close friends of mine.

Tuesday 6th January
As many of you are aware we lost Liz on Saturday, which obviously has come as a massive shock and great sadness, as we navigate the next few weeks and the funeral plans go ahead, I'd like to take away as much pressure as I can for Liz's fondest of hobbies and past times with all of the Shetlands and of course home life for Chan, if you don't know them, they were the best of friends, not just mother and daughter, they did everything together including their love for horses especially Shetlands and their beloved shettie land, while the path ahead is unknown, I don't want Chan to feel like she has to make any changes she may later wish she hasn't.

If you dont you know they have a massive passion Shetlands, many of these have been taken on over the years out of pure kindness and the love in Liz's massive heart. As well as showing them at many island shows with great big SHETTIE LAND in bright pink letters, Liz and Chan have also visited the elderly in nursing homes numerous times.

In such a hearting breaking situation, I'd like to hope we, as an island can pull together to help in any way, donations, no matter how big or small to the go fund me, donations of feed, straw and hay are so greatly welcome, if you can't donate please please keep sharing as every share is massively appreciated too, or even tag a business or charity you think may also donate or help in any way.....

I can't thank you all enough for all the love, donations already received, the support we received so far has been overwhelming

Sunday 4th January 2026 - Unfortunately this isn't the news we wanted to share with you all, yesterday Liz passed away and became the brightest start in the sky, she was surrounded by so much love from us all and I'm sure she was welcomed by so many hoofs galloping towards her.

I ask you while we appreciate all your support and all the love, please understand than were all still struggling to adjust to the path ahead of us, please respect that Chan needs a few days to comprehend all of this and I ask you don't inundate her with messages, she will see all your comments of love and support and has been reading every single one we've received so far.

An update for the funeral will be shared soon xxxx

Lots of love and thanks from Chan and Jason xxxx

As many of you are aware Liz was flown over to Southampton General Hospital and rushed in for emergency surgery on Christmas eve.
With everything going on right now the last thing on their mind should be finances and if we can help relieve some of that pressure for them it would be absolutely amazing, this would go towards travel to and from the island, parking fees etc and towards the ponies feed, straw and hay etc.
Every donation would help massively as we face this journey ahead of us, and if your unable to donate every share of this would be hugely appreciated too.
If your not able to donate in anyway financially, donations of food, straw and hay for the ponies, or even helping us up at the yard if we need it any time would also be massively appreciated to and you can contact me directly if you can help in any of those ways.
From Liz, Chantelle, Jason, I would like to thank all of you in advance for you all your love and support we've been shown so far

FB update from the 25th Dec 2025

Hi all, just wanted to post a quick message from Chantelle as with everything going on she doesn't have time to respond and get back to all your messages at the moment, so I'm just trying to keep the load abit lighter for her for the time being........

" As some of you have heard and seen mum was suddenly taken ill Christmas Eve and was flown over to Southampton for emergency surgery. She came through the surgery and is now in recovery, but we're waiting on more confirmation for the next steps and what we're fully dealing with but mum is warrior and is fighting hard.

Thank you for all your messages of love and support and for the moment Zoe is going to take over this post and give updates when they are available as my top priority is my mum so do apologise if l've not got back to anyone"

FB update from the 27th Dec 2025

Just a little update from Chan

"please bare with us as I'm sure you can understand she's still completely overwhelmed with everything and isnt ignoring your messages but understandably her main concern is Liz right now.

As we all know Liz is strong-willed and stubborn and is making progress in her own way, but baby steps are being made.

Thanks for all your love, messages and thoughts, we've been blown away by everyones support, we will update you all again soon xx"

FB update from the 29th Dec

Just another update from Chan with Lizs progress so far.

"We're not out the woods just yet, however Southampton hospital feels like they have done everything they can so far and now think it's time to bring her back to the island to st marys for the next few steps in her progress.
Obviously still a very long road ahead and my priority right now is still all for mum. Understandably visitors for the foreseeable are limited to immediate family, so please don't be offended if you aren't allowed to visit just yet.

Thank you all for the messages of support and love, I have seen them all and I will get back to you all at some point when my concern isn't all on mum. Chan xx "

I'd also like to thank you all for all the messages I've also received for offers of help it's massively appreciated xxxx

Chan's message to you all - 30th Dec 2025 - Just a quick note from me to literally Thank every single person that has commented and messaged with love and support and well wishes for mum, and to everyone that has been on the end of the phone for me (you know who you are). As alot of you know mum is my absolute world not just my mum but my best friend too, and we do absolutely everything together, not having her by my side is a massive kick to the heart, yes we have a long way to go!! But my mum doesn’t give up she is a warrior
Also to everyone that has helped out with our little pride and joys (sometimes arseholes) we owe you all big time xx
