A year ago, just as we were all starting to learn about COVID, the Heather Manor community in the Fords section of Woodbridge lost a beloved neighbor and friend to virtually everyone who has lived here since the community was built over 40 years ago - Nick Caravassi.
Nick loved sitting on his deck, overlooking the center courtyard, turning on the lights and music, firing up the grill and soaking in the conversation and laughter of neighbors and friends. Nick and his wife Carol always had a glass out for you, and munchies at the ready, no matter the time of day, and their hospitality was well known. Nick took a keen interest in the trees and flowers all around our complex, and he couldn't wait to enjoy each season's colors as he tended to his garden.
With that in mind, a living memorial with colorful blooms seems like an ideal tribute to Nick.
The Heather Manor Townhouses Condominium Association has planned a living memorial to Nick Caravassi in the center courtyard . It will feature a kidney shaped area anchored by a beautiful Cherry Blossom specimen tree and flanked by two flowering Endless Summer Hydrangeas on either side. A memorial plaque will mark the area, mounted on a large landscaping stone.
This GO FUND ME fundraiser has been started to cover the cost of this memorial.
Please consider contributing if you are able.
Thank you.
