Liverpool Cathedral Abseil for Mac House
In August, our world was turned upside down when my son was diagnosed with heart failure after catching a virus. He was immediately admitted to intensive care and started on medication, but the hardest part was still to come. In December, he had a dip in his condition, and we found ourselves back in the hospital for Christmas, where he spent four long weeks recovering.
This diagnosis has completely changed our lives as a family. We never imagined the challenges we’d face, especially being 40 miles away from the hospital. The thought of being so far from our little boy during his time of need was unbearable, but that’s when we found the incredible support of Ronald McDonald House.
The charity provided us with free accommodation, allowing us to stay close to our son and offer him the comfort and reassurance he needed. But it didn’t stop there. Ronald McDonald House also ran activities on weekends, which helped our other son feel supported and included during such a difficult time. The emotional and practical support they offer is beyond words.
This charity has been a lifeline for so many families, giving them the chance to stay close to their little ones when it matters most. It’s for this reason that I’m taking part in the abseil of Liverpool Cathedral. I’m fundraising to help Ronald McDonald House reach their target for a refurb, ensuring that families like ours can continue to have a “home away from home” during their most challenging moments.
Please help me support this incredible charity by donating to my fundraiser. Your generosity will go a long way in helping many families find comfort and support when they need it the most. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
