Liverpool Boxing Stadium Memorial Stone
Donation protected
We, the Merseyside Former Boxers Association are endeavouring to have a memorial Stone set in St Paul’s Square where the Liverpool Boxing Stadium once stood. This iconic building stood from 1932-1987 showcasing many of Merseyside and beyond top boxers, many going on to achieve international fame. Liverpool’s former Light-heavyweight champion of the world John Conteh once said: The Stadium was like a perfectly fitting suit-a place built for boxing and what a magnificent atmosphere it produced.’’ The Beatles played there Winston Churchill spoke there!
Our organisations passion is etched in the memory of those boxers who climbed the steps up to the ring and fought with pride and honour. Not a single plaque marks the spot! We would like to honour this once great building with a memorial stone and ask you to donate to make this and our dream come true. Thankyou for all help and support. Merseyside Former Boxing Association.
