Little boy needs wheelchair
Donation protected
We are looking to raise funds to buy a new electric wheelchair for a little boy called Sebastian.
Sebastian is a fun-loving young boy with the kindest heart you could ever know. He is a full-time wheelchair user but now, at the age of 8, he has outgrown the chair which has been his lifeline for the last 6 years. Sebastian is dependent on an electric wheelchair for mobility in his daily life including his education and, crucially, for quality of life so he can ‘run’ and play with his friends like any child should. His needs are quite specific, though, and he can only use a specific type of chair for comfort, accessibility and safety.
Without a new chair, Sebby will be unable to play with his brother and his friends and will lose the small element of independence he is starting to enjoy as he is growing up.
If you can spare any amount to donate to Sebastian’s fund, he promises it will be used towards making the most of freedom his chair brings, which includes excessive amounts of smiles and laughs!
Sebastian was born with a rare neuromuscular condition Arthrogryposis which is caused by a fault in his DNA. His condition means Sebastian does not produce the correct proteins in his body to make his muscles grow. As a result Sebastian has very little muscle tone throughout his body. Sebastian requires the use of a wheelchair full time.
He has outgrown his current electric chair after 6 years. In order for Sebastian to maintain his current lifestyle his new chair needs to be able to go in and outdoors as well as raise Sebastian up to different heights. This will allow Sebastian to use his chair throughout school without the need to transfer to lots of different chairs or equipment when he wants to join in different subjects or activities as he currently does.
The most suitable wheelchair to meet Sebastians needs is the permobil F5 corpus. We hope Sebastian can use this chair for up to 10years
