Helen Heaton founded Little Acorns Voices CIC after watching her grandson, who was non-verbal in his early years, finally find his voice once his family were able to access private speech and language therapy. The difference that specialist support made was profound. But Helen knew that most families in Pembrokeshire simply cannot afford private therapy, and that statutory waiting lists mean children often miss the critical early window entirely.

Helen is no stranger to taking on big challenges. In 2025 she rowed across the Atlantic as part of Merched Y Môr, a Welsh all-women crew, raising funds and proving that determination and community can achieve extraordinary things. Little Acorns Voices CIC is driven by exactly that same spirit: the belief that where there is a gap, it can be closed.

Little Acorns Voices CIC exists to make sure no family in Pembrokeshire has to watch their child miss out simply because of where they live or what they can afford. We are a registered Community Interest Company, every pound we raise goes directly towards funding access to specialist early communication services for young children.
