Lismire to Beragh Cycle
This fundraiser is now closed.
The Grimes family are immensely grateful to everybody who generously donated to SVP in support to our cycle from Lismire, Cork, our mother's home to Beragh, Co Tyrone, where our parents settled and gave us a happy home. We were totally overwhelmed by people's generosity with approx €12,000 donated.
Little did we know as we set out to mark the 25th anniversary of our family bereavements in the Omagh bomb, that we would tap into something so close to many people's hearts.
We would also like to thank the communities in Lismire and Beragh for the great send off and receptions respectively.
Thank you everyone and God bless.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Omagh Bomb on the 15th August , five sons and two grandsons of Mary Grimes (nee Aherne) will cycle approx 210 miles from Mary's birthplace - Lismire, Co. Cork to Mary's home in Beragh, Co Tyrone.
Mary, her daughter Avril, and her 3 granddaughters, Maura and the unborn twins, were 5 of the 31 people killed in Omagh that fateful day.
The cycle is continuing the journey made many times by the Grimes family, this time with a very special significance.
