Lisa's shave for Whitsunday Suicide Prevention Network

Hey friends & family,

This weekend I’ll be heading home to play some footy at the Summer 10’s carnival

Each year the carnival supports a different cause & this year's cause is one that’s pretty close to my heart.

I've decided to shave off my wonderful Tongan locks in hopes to raise funds to go towards Whitsunday Suicide Prevention Network

Suicide has been an absolute thief in many ways to many people in our beautiful community, it's something that has wreaked havoc in in the lives of many & I am hoping to do my small part to make a change & hopefully start a very important conversation.

My decision to shave my hair is to represent clearing our headspace & doing something extremely out of my comfort zone. Mental health can be an incredibly uncomfortable topic for many, so here I am asking you to partner with me in doing something marginly out of your comfort zone whether it's contributing financially, sharing this post or something even better reaching out to a mate, colleague or someone you don't really interact with in your day to day life & GENUINELY checking in.

I dedicate my shave to my beautiful sister Rita & her amazing partner David who aren't here today to carry the torch of the flame they left here on earth & the many others gone to soon.
