Lisa and Scott's Journey to Parenthood

Hello friends & family,

As many of you know, it has been a tough few years for my sister Lisa and her husband Scott in trying to build a family. Their journey towards parenthood has been marked by a miscarriage, medical complications, and the unbearable loss of their daughter Charlie in August 2023 who was born asleep at 24 weeks.

After the joyous news of their pregnancy in early 2023, they were blindsided by the complications of HELLP syndrome, a rare but very serious condition affecting both Lisa and baby. In a matter of days, their journey culminated in the heart-wrenching loss of their baby girl. As they continue to grieve and heal from this loss, they find themselves facing a stark reality – the inherent risks associated with another pregnancy. The thought of enduring another pregnancy with danger is a fear that weighs heavily upon them. Yet, their desire to welcome a child into their arms burns brighter than ever. In light of their circumstances, their medical team who they continue to be monitored by has recommended the path of IVF and surrogacy as the safest route for Lisa and Scott. While these procedures offer hope, they also come with a significant financial burden, one that they cannot shoulder alone. This is where we humbly turn to you, our family, friends and community, for support.
