HELP KOA Team Return to Senegal: 10-yr Anniversary

HELP KOA TEAM TRAVEL TO SENEGAL FOR A 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY TRIP - TEN YEARS FROM WHEN BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU WAS INTRODUCED TO SENEGAL BY COACHES FROM KOA TEAM IN STAFFORD, VA.

In 2013 our Jiu Jitsu team from Stafford VA made our first trip to Africa to share Brazilian Jiu Jitsu through a series of seminars set up in coordination with the Senegalese Judo Federation. We returned to Senegal with different teams in 2015, '16, & '17, pushing the growth of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu further with each trip with the help of our newfound BJJ brothers in Senegal. The first Senegalese Jiu Jitsu team - Bokk JJ - was born during these years and exists under the leadership of Senegal's first BJJ blue belt & first Senegalese BJJ promotion - Boubacar Diallo. Today an IBJJF recognized brown belt and a 2023 IBJJF European Championship brown belt Bronze Medalist.

In 2018 we traveled to Tanzania for Jiu Jitsu seminars and to assist with the first formal/coordinated Jiu Jitsu tournament (documented here on YouTube:

And we did the same in Nairobi in 2019 - supporting and helping with the first BJJ tournament in Kenya.

Our trips were put on hold by the Pandemic but now we are heading back and we need your help. KOA Team funds the entirety of these trips to Africa and we have rarely asked for help but this year we are asking. Please consider donating any amount to help us reach our goal. Your funds will go towards supporting our team's transportation and lodging while in Senegal. Any remaining funds will be donated to Bokk JJ to support their team's routine financial responsibilities.
