Line’s Story

Line Menard: Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother of 3 beautiful children.

It is with a heavy heart that we relay this news. Line has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and there is no treatment or cure. As she will spend her final days in the hospital, Line will not have the opportunity to go home to her family and loved ones.

On January 16, 2023, my mother went to the hospital emergency for stomach pain she had recently begun to experience.

It was only a few months prior that she had undergone a surgery for an umbilical hernia repair, so we thought the pain may have been due to that.

They admitted her to perform ongoing blood tests, as well as scans in efforts to determine the cause of the severe pain.

On January 19, 2023, the day of her 64th birthday, came the horrifying news: Terminal stage 4 cancer, that has already metastasized to her bones.

Line has already been suffering from COPD. The doctors determined there is nothing more they can do, because the respiratory disease has left her immune compromised, and too much at risk if she were to undergo any type of invasive treatment.

The prognosis given on January 27,2023, was 3 months to 12 months, at best.

My mother has since been transferred to palliative care, with the possibility of being transferred to a hospice facility.

Her last wishes would be to enjoy all the time she has left with her husband and family.

This has had a devastating emotional impact on the entire family, and we would be extremely grateful for any help to minimize the financial impact that will undoubtedly arise during these trying times.

The funds collected through our campaign will be used to provide the best care for her final days here with us, and also to help Line’s husband (Quinto), daughter (Bonnie) and her 3 young children, as well as funeral expenses.
