A few years ago, I discovered my love for running during one of the hardest periods of my life. Running became a way for me to process grief and keep moving forward.
This month, I’ve decided to take on a half marathon to raise money for a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.
H.E.L.P is a Kidderminster-based charity supporting homeless people and those in need across the Wyre Forest. H.E.L.P provide outreach, food and emergency aid to those who need it most, and also support people with medical appointments and help them access safe accommodation.
I’ve been volunteering with H.E.L.P for over a year now in the night kitchen, and every week I see first-hand the difference that dedicated volunteers make in people’s lives by providing a warm meal, warm clothes and a genuine sense of community. For people living on the streets or struggling with poverty, that support can be life-changing.
Homelessness in the UK continues to rise, in England alone, over 4,000 people were sleeping rough on a single night in autumn 2024, up around 20% from the year before. Any donation, no matter how small, will help H.E.L.P continue their incredible work.
Thank you so much for supporting both this cause and my run <3
