Hi!
My name is Lindsay Brant, and I am a nurse in the Cardiothoracic ICU at UCLA Medical Center. I have learned a lot about caring for people at UCLA, and now I want to take those skills out into the world, so I am asking for your support.
This September I am joining Nomads Clinic . Started by Roshi Joan Halifax in 1980, Nomads Clinic is a medical pilgrimage to the extremely remote northwestern region of Nepal, called Dolpo. The people of Dolpo are largely culturally Tibetan, and they don't have access to regular health care. Our group of both eastern and western clinicians will be trekking on foot and by horseback into Dolpo and over a month be setting up four separate outdoor medical clinics along the way.
The total cost for me to join Nomads Clinic is $8,000. This includes airfare, supplies and payment to the people and animals who will help us get there. Your support will provide much needed medical care to the people of this region. I so greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
Thank you very much,
lindsay
