Warwick in Africa is a programme aimed at enhancing education in some of the poorest areas of Tanzania, Ghana and South Africa by sending student volunteers who teach English and Mathematics together with local teachers.
As a team of volunteers in Tanzania in the summer of 2019 we got to know Linda, one of the local lead teachers of Warwick in Africa. Linda is a very hard working teacher who has been pouring a lot of energy and enthusiasm into the programme by training other teachers, encouraging her students, and genuinely being helpful to all volunteers. She would always go above and beyond to make our experience a memorable one.
We recently discovered that her now ex-husband took her savings from her bank account. Now she and her son are facing an imminent threat to homelessness and other financial crisis. Due to COVID-19 she's unable to help her situation as she's no longer able to work. She's been risking her health and selling food on the street so she can feed her child. 
We would like to return the kindness we and many Tanzanian students, teachers and other volunteers gained from her. We are hoping to provide her with enough money to help her find a home and sustain her in this pandemic.  Every penny counts, so let's come together to help a wonderful, kind and loving human being!
