Lincoln was born at 2lbs 13 oz, about 8 weeks early due to complications. He had already proven to be a fighter by the time he took his first breath. Babies with Down Syndrome typically have heart (and other health) issues and I know John and Melissa were really hoping he would be one of the lucky ones and would not. Fast forward three weeks and here we are! Lincoln's oxygen dropped drastically and they finally discovered the reason behind that is that he has a heart condition known as Pulmonary Stenosis....this is in addition to another heart condition, Tetralogy of Fallot AND a hole in his heart. Tonight (August 19th) Lincoln was taken to Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor by ambulance. He is expected to have heart surgery sometime soon to fix one or two of the issues and will have to be back in a couple of months to fix whatever they don't do this time around.
So, what am I asking? I am asking for any help that you can afford to my brother and sister-in-law. The future is so uncertain right now but one thing is...the driving...medical bills, medical bills, medical bills...stress...and more medical bills. John and Melissa were driving to and from the hospital in Toledo at least twice a day, everyday. Now with Lincoln in Ann Arbor their drive is even farther and longer. This is all in addition to having two preteens at home that will be starting school virtually soon. They need a lot of help right now.
They would never ask for anything so that is why my family and I decided to start this GoFundMe. I know they would be grateful for anything.
Thank you so much. And if you could, say a prayer for Little Lincoln or send good thoughts his way.
