Dear friends and family,

Greetings! We pray that this letter finds you and your family well. As you may know, Sam’s Place has held a special place in our family’s heart over the past decade. Sam’s Place is a school and orphanage for deaf children in Kenya, East Africa. East Africa (particularly Kenya) has struggled with the crisis of a population of deaf children left behind by the AIDs virus and families unable or unwilling to care for them. At Sam's Place, deaf orphans are given hope and a future in an environment that fosters spiritual and academic growth through the use of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) and a staff and team of volunteers committed to nurturing each child.

Our family has supported Sam’s Place efforts stateside for many years. We have been given the opportunity to travel to Kenya and serve the Sam’s Place children in person this summer. We will spend 2 weeks at Sam’s Place. We anticipate using our unique skills to assist in growing and strengthening the mission of Sam’s Place whether that be through Lilly’s sign language abilities or artistic passions, Minda’s educational leadership experiences, or whatever is most needed to serve this community of children.

As we prepare for this trip, we ask for your prayers for safety and for God’s blessings on our work at Sam’s Place.
