My name is Dessa Clark. This is a fundraiser to help my mom, Debbie, pay her bills and alleviate some of the worry she has been subject to.

My mom has been a server at the American Legion Post 27 in a Apache Junction serving veterans and their families since 2012. She was always a hard-working and passionate employee and was the one who always helped others.

In June of 2022 she suffered a severe stroke that affected her mobility, as well as her eyesight and hearing on one side of her body. She filed for Disability, however she has been told that it's still in the process and to keep checking back within the next few months. This whole time she has been without income and her account has been completely cleared and in the negative for a few months now. I am her only child and have been trying to help her with whatever she needs. She does receive food assistance, but this month the benefit amount has been reduced to $187 per month-which is not very easy to live on! Her rent is 600 a month. I have already added her phone to my account and am able to cover the cost of the phone bill. I currently work at the American Legion as well and use a lot of my tips to help my mom.

There are many people that she saw on a daily basis at her job. She was loved by many and many are concerned about her health and want to help her. I would like to create this fundraiser to help with all of her expenses. Additionally, I have a member of the American Legion who is willing to match the amount of $2000 from what we are able to raise.

Any donation-no matter how small-would be greatly appreciated. Any donation will also be able to be used as a tax write-off for anyone who donates. Thank you for reading this, I appreciate you all with all my heart. It has been very hard for my mom and myself these last several months and it breaks my heart to see her this way. She is improving her physical health day by day, but it will be a long while before she will be able to return to a normal way of living.
