Help Bring the World to More Seniors

Travel can become difficult with age, changes in health, or limited mobility. But the chance to explore, feel wonder, and share a new experience does not have to end.

I’m Jeremy Ford, founder of Lightning Tours. Our team brings guided virtual reality experiences directly to senior living communities. Residents can explore places around the world, enjoy nature, and share the experience with their neighbors—all without leaving their community.

We bring the headsets, set everything up, guide residents throughout the session, and take care of the equipment afterward. For someone trying VR for the first time, a friendly person beside them can make all the difference. Our goal is to make each visit comfortable, engaging, and something residents can look forward to together.

Lightning Tours has delivered more than 2,000 fully facilitated VR experiences and works with around 90 senior living campuses, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities. We want to bring these experiences to many more seniors.

A complete onsite Lightning Tours experience costs $249. This fundraiser gives individuals, families, and businesses a direct way to sponsor visits. Contributions will support the team, equipment, preparation, and onsite facilitation needed to deliver those experiences.

Our first goal is $5,000—approximately 20 complete experiences before GoFundMe transaction fees. A gift of any size moves us closer to the next visit. As sponsored experiences take place, we’ll share updates so supporters can see what their contributions are making possible.

We’re also honored to partner with Rhonda Hudson as she prepares to release The Blessings of Alzheimer’s & Dementia on October 17. Her book reflects on love, connection, and recognizing the person beyond a diagnosis. Those values resonate with the care our team brings to every senior community we visit.
