Lighten the Load for Johnny and Family
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
As most of you know, we have a very large family that is extremely close. Five months ago, our lives changed dramatically. My Aunt, Paula Adkins, had a massive stroke, which left her unable to move or care for herself. My Uncle, Eddie Adkins, is in the final stages of Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease, which has caused very severe cognitive decline, hallucinations, and uncontrollable movements.
My Aunt and Uncle have known each other since they were 15 years old as students at John Glen High School in Walkerton, Indiana. They have spent most of their lives together. My Uncle retired from IronWorkers Local 292, after proudly working for them for many years. In order to keep them together, they were both moved to Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.
My cousin, Johnny Groves, assumed power of attorney and all financial and physical responsibilities for them. Nobody realized exactly how much debt they had accumulated or the amount that would have to be paid out of pocket each month, until all of this happened.
On top of the financial responsibilities for my Aunt and Uncle, my cousin and his wife Jessica have their own cost of living expenses for their home.
Johnny is working 12-14 hours a day, six days a week. He is overwhelmed, overworked, and has exhausted all financial means that they have had.
While we are praying that they will get better, we are also realistic and realize that may never happen. Neither of them have life insurance, which will add thousands to what he is already paying.
We know money is tight for everyone right now, but anything you can donate, no matter how big or small, will help lighten the burden off of my cousins. If you are not able to donate, please share. Please keep them and our whole family in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to help in any other way, feel free to contact me, as I will pass the information on to the rest of the family.
Life can change in a second. Please hug your family and friends and tell them that you love them, while they are still here.
Sending lots of love to you all.
