My name is Danielle. I am 47 years old, a mum, sister, daughter, and friend who is now
again facing one of the hardest battles of my life. Earlier last year I was diagnosed with
Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). After 6 months of treatment and holding onto hope, I was devastated to learn that my AML has relapsed recently after only 5 months of being in remission.
I am now preparing to undergo further treatment, and ultimately a stem-cell transplant
which means countless hospital visits, long stays away from home, and a great deal of
physical and emotional strain. While I focus on fighting this disease, everyday life doesn’t stop—bills keep coming, school fees need to be paid, and transport costs to and fromthe hospital continue to add up.
I’ve always tried to be strong and independent, but right now I need to ask for help. Both my parents are ill—sadly one is terminal with stomach cancer and the other with MDS
(Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Any support received will go directly towards easing the
financial burden of:
• Keeping up with household bills
• Transport and parking costs for hospital appointments and treatment
• Outside school hours care for my son
• Getting my sister here from Victoria to help me at home
This journey is one I never imagined I’d be on, but I am determined to fight with
everything I have. Your kindness—whether through a donation, sharing my story, or
keeping me in your thoughts—means more than words can express.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me and my family through this
difficult time.
With gratitude, love and light,
Danielle
