Lifting up Gerry During His Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Dear friends, family and compatriots, my name is Marcia and I have created this GoFundMe page for my brother, Gerry, who is battling stage 4 cancer.

As many of you know, navigating cancer treatment truly takes a village, and my brother is deeply in need of that loving support right now.
If you feel led to offer a financial gift of any amount, please know it would be received with immense gratitude.

Even more, we believe that your prayers for Gerry carry great power and can truly move mountains.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and good faith.

God bless you all. ❤️

Marcia R.

Gerry’s Story,
Like many families, cancer came into our lives unexpectedly and turned everything upside down. Along with the emotional toll, there are many financial stresses that come with treatment such as travel, fuel, meals, and the day-to-day expenses that don’t stop just because you’re sick. My goal is to help ease some of those burdens so Gerry can focus on what truly matters: his health and healing.

Gerry was born on July 6, 1950, and was first diagnosed with cancer in March 2025. He began chemotherapy in April, enduring six long months of treatment. In October 2025, he proudly rang the bell, marking the completion of his cancer treatments, a moment we all hoped meant the end of this journey.

Unfortunately, on December 3rd, Gerry underwent another biopsy, and it was determined that not all of the cancer had been removed. He resumed treatment on December 19, 2025, and will now continue treatments every 14 days until April 2026.

Each treatment requires a 2.5-hour drive one way to Moncton, followed by five hours at the hospital to ensure he is stable enough to return home. These long days add up quickly, both physically and financially.

Gerry spent most of his life working in the construction industry, until he was diagnosed with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, which made that work no longer possible. Despite his own health challenges, he continues to work on small engines within his community to bring in some income. He does this not just to support himself, but because he has always taken pride in being helpful and independent.

Anyone who knows Gerry knows he is a friend to everyone. He knows everyone in his community, and more importantly, he cares deeply for them. He would give the shirt off his back if he knew someone was in need—without hesitation and without expecting anything in return.

As his sister, this journey is deeply personal to me. Watching someone you love fight cancer, especially someone who has spent his life helping others, is incredibly hard. This fundraiser is important to me because it’s my way of giving back to Gerry, of making sure he feels the same support and kindness he has shown to so many over the years. If I can help relieve even a small part of his stress, then it’s worth it.

Any donation, share, or kind word is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read Gerry’s story and for supporting him during this difficult season.
