Lift for Uganda

Donation protected

Hi there! My name is Seraphine Thirion, and I’m a Transition Year student at St. Andrews College. For the past twenty years, St. Andrews College has been involved in a truly impactful project in Uganda, working closely with Rubiriizi Secondary School, Kisiizi Hospital, Good Shepherd Fold Children's Home, and GSF Children’s Home. Over the years, these partnerships have helped to improve the lives of countless individuals in Uganda.

As part of my TY journey, I’ve decided to take action and contribute to this important cause through a fundraising initiative that I’m incredibly passionate about. I’m organizing a CrossFit workout event with a twist—one that will include 124 movements in honour of the 12.4% of the Ugandan population who are living with disabilities.

This fundraiser holds a deeply personal meaning to me, as I will be completing the workout alongside my special needs brother, who has inspired me every day. My goal is to raise funds to continue supporting the life-changing projects in Uganda that my school has contributed to over the last 20 years while also promoting inclusivity and accessibility in fitness for all abilities.

The workout I’ve designed is scalable, meaning that it can be adjusted to fit anyone’s fitness level—whether you’re a seasoned athlete or someone who just wants to participate for a good cause. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to contribute, regardless of ability, and I’ve ensured that the exercises can be modified so that all participants can take part.

By supporting this fundraiser, you’ll not only be helping to provide much-needed resources to the communities we’ve been working with in Uganda, but you’ll also be showing your support for inclusivity and the power of fitness to bring people together.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donations you’re able to make, whether it’s a small or large amount. Every contribution helps, and together, we can make a lasting difference in Uganda.

Thank you so much for your generosity. Let’s make this fundraiser a success and continue the work that has been making a real impact in Uganda for the past two decades!

Thank you so much,
Seraphine Thirion
