Lifesaving Surgery for Landon

Donation protected
My grandson, Landon David Hughes is scheduled for consultation and surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota shortly after his 13 th birthday at the end of November.  The procedure is called Left Cardial Sympathetic Denervation (LCSD) and is done to treat people with congenital Long QT Syndrome, a life- threatening heart arrythmia which Landon has had since birth.

Throughout his life he has had some scary events, starting with open heart surgery at 10 days old and an ' electrical storm' in his heart that put him him  ICU for 9 days during his summer vacation this year.  He has already in place a pacemaker and also a defibrillator but because of the severity of his condition, the Mayo doctors think that this is a necessary next step in his treatment.

The good news is that because of the financial hardship on Landon's family,  they are offering to do this pro bono.

The purpose of this campaign is to cover the ancillary costs which they will incur such as travel costs, hotels and supplemental income for Landon's mother Erin to be with him for 10 days in Minnesota.

We thank the Mayo Clinic for their incredible generosity and also the doctors at Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane WA for their role  in keeping Landon safe.

On behalf of Landon's family, thank you for your financial support!
