Life Turned Upside Down After Cancer Treatment

Hi, my name is Beatrice and I’m fundraising to help support my family during a very difficult time.

In 2023, I was diagnosed with leukemia. Unfortunately, I received the wrong treatment, which led to serious complications. As a result, I had to undergo a stem cell transplant in december 2024 a tough and life-changing procedure.

The recovery has been long and difficult. Because of the complications caused by the incorrect treatment, I’ve been forced to remain on full-time sick leave for at least a year longer than originally expected.

During this time, my partner had to take over the parental leave for our youngest child, who was too young to start preschool. That meant both of us were home me on medical leave, and my partner on parental leave. He still hasn’t been able to return to work full-time.

This situation has led to a significant loss of income for our family. At the same time, our medical expenses and travel costs related to my treatment have increased. On top of that, we were hit with an unexpected major expense this past spring, which put even more strain on our already tight finances.

We’re a young family with two small children, aged 2 and almost 4, just trying to get through this incredibly hard chapter in our lives.

Any support, big or small, would mean the world to us and help us cover basic living costs, medical expenses, and give us some breathing room as I continue to recover.
