Life changing surgery for my nephew Rudi.

Hi I’m Ollie Kate and Lily’s brother and Rudis uncle. Firstly thank you for taking your time to read this, I’ve decided to start this go fund me page for them and Id like to explain why. Rudi was born with a condition called ptosis. For anyone that doesn’t know what ptosis is, in non scientific terms it is muscle weakness off the eye lids. Unfortunately rudi’s case is  servere and if he isn’t operated on in the coming months he’s vision will deteriorate and eventually lead to blindness. After months off appointments and research Kate and lily have found a Ptosis specialist surgeon in Spain. Unfortunately this same operation is not offered here yet in the uk. Great ormond street hospital  in London have offered the girls something called sling surgery. This surgery is not guarantee to be successful. This usually leads to having to have 3-4 operations through out there childhood. By the 5th operation there won’t be enough muscle to work with and he would be left with a permanent dropping eye lid and blindness. The surgeon in Spain has amazing success rates and the surgery has to be preformed once in his life. As you can imagine this comes with a huge price tag. This is not a decision the girls have taken lightly but this is the very best chance for them to save rudi’s vision. Rudi was born this February to Kate and lily by IVF. His op will take place in December when he is ten months. We have all been aware off the decision the girls made to fly to Spain for the past 4 weeks. They have been adamant they’ve wanted to do this alone but as a family we have decided it is putting to much pressure physically and mentally on the girls to get this money together in four short months as well as normal everyday life The girls are trying to gather £14,000 on their own they’ve already made a good start but any help would mean to world to us all. After rudis operation he needs 24hour care because of infections which can lead to all sorts of complications. Rudis recovery will be a long time but by school age this will all be  over and done with we hope. Thanks again
