~~~*** ~~~THE PROBLEM~~~*****~~~


In 2019 alone,

--> Flooding in Iran claimed 70 lives, while cyclones in south-Eastern Africa claimed another 50 lives, while Cyclone Fani lashed South Asia, causing 89 deaths
--> Droughts and fires raged across California, as Europe continued to swelter, parts of Australia choked on dust, and Japan was pounded by the costliest Pacific typhoon in recorded history.
--> Fires rage across the Amazon, the world’s largest tropical rainforest, as farmers, land-grabbers and loggers torch trees and clear land for crops or grazing. 

Climate change is the single biggest threat to our wellbeing and our children's future. 

Did you know...

             ● 11% of all global greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans are caused by deforestation — comparable to the emissions from all of the cars and trucks on the planet.
             ● Nearly 1 million hectares lost. An area of coastal ecosystems larger than New York City is destroyed every year, removing an important buffer from extreme weather for coastal communities and releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
             ● Nature is an untapped solution. Tropical forests are incredibly effective at storing carbon — providing at least 30% of action needed to prevent the worst climate change scenarios. Yet nature-based solutions only receive only 2% of all climate funding.
             ● Natural climate solutions like ending deforestation and restoring degraded forests could, at the global level, create 80 million jobs, bring 1 billion people out of poverty and add US$ 2.3 trillion in productive growth.

~~~*** ~~~THE SOLUTION~~~*****~~~

We are partnering with Sierra Club and NYC.org to raise funds to plant 10,000 trees to help combat the loss incurred by the excessive deforestation and climate events happening around the world. 

During our Environmental Threesome, we aim to:

● Plant trees to combat climate change
● Host educational workshops on various climate change related topics (e.g., plastic pollution, driving electric cars, another earth meditation, etc.)
● Participate in an Environmental Awareness bike ride

We want to leave behind a legacy for future generations that includes a livable, clean environment for a healthy society to thrive in.
