My name is Anthony and I'm an Australian living in London as an out gay man. For the last year I've helping the Queer refugee community in South Sudan. The community is over 300+ and they genuinely battle each day. Right now the heat is almost unbearable and they genuinely struggle for the most basic of needs.

Over the past year I have learnt more about the Queer community and then through the powers of social media I met a young queer man called Wonder. Wonder has become the go to man for helping so many in the community.

Here is what wonder wanted to share as we start this new go fund me.

Hello, my name is Wonder.
I am a queer refugee and an advocate for the LGBTQI+ currently in South Sudan. Since 2024, I have been trying to rebuild my life again after spending four difficult years as a refugee in other countries., where I faced constant discrimination, displacement, and insecurity, simply for being who I am.

I was forced to seek another location, so I took the long journey and came to South Sudan hoping to find safety. Instead, I face the same dangers — threats, exclusion, hunger, poor shelter, and limited access to good healthcare. Being queer refugee makes survival even harder. Many of us are rejected, isolated, and left without the basic support systems.

We live in horrendous conditions; however we continue to support the community. New arrivals come with virtually nothing. Many arrive sick and exhausted and all are homeless. The heat right now is unbearable. Many of the community have been attacked or forced to hide. Together, we share food, water, soap, medicine, and the little shelter space we can find. We built shelters/houses from the materials we can find. I try my best to make sure no one is left alone, hungry, or unsafe but it’s truly exhausting.

Like the rest of the world the basics are getting more expensive every day. For someone living as a refugee in camp this impact is even worse. The community in camp is getting bigger every week which means our needs are growing every day as well. We genuinely cannot do this alone and we need your help.

This GoFundMe will help provide the very basics:

• Food and clean drinking water
• Basic medication and first aid supplies
• Soap, sanitary pads, and basic hygiene essentials
• Temporary shelter and bedding materials
• Clothing for those who fled with nothing
• For those lucky enough to be granted asylum in another country they often need warm clothes.
• Emergency support for individuals who have been attacked or at further risk of violence
• Transport to other towns for better medical help and to seek legal representation, protection and referrals

Any donation, and I mean any donation, no matter how small , will directly save lives.

Small amounts to big things.
• $5 can provide a meal
• $10 can buy hygiene supplies
• $20 can support medication for someone in need
• $50 can help provide shelter materials to build housing

We are surviving day by day. Your support will help us eat, stay safe, and help to protect the queer refugee community in camp. It’s hard to believe but the community is often forgotten about from other humanitarian aid and support.

So please consider donating, or please share our GoFundMe with your friends. Your kindness genuinely brings hope, safety, and a little dignity to all queer refugees in South Sudan

Please Donate Today and please share to as many as you can

Thank you so so much
Wonder
