Leyva's Accident Recovery

Donation protected
My sister and her family recently suffered a tragedy that no one should ever have to go through. On March 27,  a man under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol drove his Saturn Vue SUV into their apartment, on Golden Hills Blvd at around 8:05am. My sister told me that she tried her best to cover her 11 year old daughter from the wall crashing in, since she happened to be sleeping in the same bed. She was also trying to check her baby, who at the time was in her crib still connected to her oxygen tank and covered with glass shards. Her 11 year old daughter was so brave that with all her strength was able to pry the stuck door open just enough to squeeze through and run for help. I can't even imagine what her husband felt coming home to this horrifying scene after working a 12 hour night shift. Their home was surrounded by first responders, family, and neighbors. My sister was transported to the hospital where they did numerous scans and x-rays , thankfully no broken bones, but they did find blood in her urine. She is bruised and in a lot of pain. Her 11 year old was also taken to the hospital and got checked out but thankfully no serious injuries. This does not mean they will not have a serious number of medical bills.

We were sent a few videos from our neighbors that showed the speed of the vehicle which looked well over 80mph, with no intention of slowing down. He lost control and fortunately, hit a Camaro, which had it not been there would have resulted in an unthinkable outcome. It's a miracle they survived such a devastation. The building was condemned and she cannot go in to grab any clothes or other essentials. She only has what the first responders were able to grab during the chaos. To her dismay, she did not have renters insurance. She heard from the landlord, who has also confirmed they had no tenant insurance. We are still waiting for the police report, but to be honest it does not seem promising at all, from what we've been told from the neighbors.

Like any tragic incident comes the aftermath, they will need to not only recover from the loss of many belongings, but also pay medical bills and medical equipment that was damaged, that's used for her prader-willi baby.  The trauma they will be facing is great, but with support and the grace of God they will get through this. They would greatly appreciate any donations or support from everyone that is willing. Thank you in advance for all that help and God Bless.
