Lodging for Levi’s Hospital Stay
(Upsated 3 Aug) Levi will be receiving heart surgery to close both his ventricular septal defect (vsd) and atrial septal defect (asd). It was initially scheduled for Wednesday Aug 4th but is currently on hold. He has been admitted to the UCLA hospital (Tuesday Aug 3rd) so the doctor can get a better look at his heart prior to operating due to some peculiar anatomy. The Ronald Regean Medical Center at UCLA is roughly 70 miles (about a 1 hr and 10 min drive without traffic) from where we live in Corona. Levi will be in recovery at the hospital after surgery anywhere between 1 and 4 weeks. Fortunately, our insurance is covering the operation, but unfortunately we will need to pay for lodging out of pocket if we wish to stay close to him as it is not technically far enough to be covered (100 miles or greater). We were not anticipating that the surgery would be so far away as it was originally planned to take place in Orange, which is much closer. Commuting daily would mean at least 2-3 hours of driving without traffic, which is rare anywhere in CA and it would not be ideal, especially considering our son Noah. We really want to be close to Levi while he is in the hospital but the cost of lodging in Los Angeles is extremely high, and not something we can easily afford on our own, which is why we have decided to ask for help. Any and all donations we receive will go to the cost of lodging. We hope and pray Levi makes a smooth recovery and doesn’t require an extended stay at the hospital. If you decide to donate, my family offers you the sincerest appreciation, gratitude, and thanks from the very bottom of our hearts. Thank you for your continued support for Levi.
