Help Kids with Autism Game, Grow and Build Confidence ~ ABLE
Donation protected
Hello from ABLE (Applied Behavioral Learning Experiences), our Social Skills group is more than just therapy. It's a space where kids with autism build confidence, connection, and real-life skills through creative and fun experiences.
Right now, we’re raising funds for a very special goal: to bring the RV Gamerz FL gaming truck to our South Lakeland clinic for an unforgettable afternoon of teamwork, joy, and social growth.
This exciting event is about more than just video games. Our kids will be actively involved in planning and running fundraisers to make it happen by learning valuable life skills like communication, organization, money management, and flexibility with activities like Car Wash, Hot Dogs Stand, Hand Craft Stand, etc.
TARGET SKILLS:
- Organization Skills i.e. creating a list of materials needed for the fundraiser, using a calendar, making posters for the clinic to promote the event
- Communication Skills i.e. working together to come up with ideas such as a title for the fundraiser, ideas for crafts, and prices
- Money Management i.e. creating a financial goal, discussing cost of production vs. profit
- Delayed Gratification i.e. learning to ‘invest’ into something (both emotionally and financially)
- Accepting “No” i.e. understanding if their idea is not doable, understanding if a ‘customer’ does not want to contribute to the fundraiser
- Problem-solving Skills/Flexibility i.e. compromising, accepting sudden changes in plans, having to settle for different items when shopping for materials
It’s a hands-on, heart-filled lesson in how effort and teamwork can turn dreams into reality. But we don’t want to stop there.
Any extra funds we raise will go directly toward enriching our new clinic library and supporting extra-curricular activities that help our kids thrive beyond their regular therapy sessions.
Your donation, big or small, helps create more moments of purpose, pride, and progress for our kids. You're not just supporting a fundraiser, you're investing in futures filled with confidence, creativity, and connection.
Thank you for helping us build something meaningful. Let’s show our kids what’s possible when a community believes in them.
