Lets talk about Men's Mental Health.

With June being the month dedicated to men's Mental health this sparked a conversation between the boys about how we can do our part to help, spread the word and start conversations.

Myself, Chris, Nick, Ben and Joe have bravely or stupidly decided to test our endurance and mental strength to embark on the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge. This will consist of running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. (6.5km 12 times over a 48-hour period for a total of 77.3km) We will be donating all funds to Mensline Australia which provides amazing free support to anyone in need, they have a hotline you can call any time of the day/night.

Despite June being the 'Dedicated' month to men's mental health we would all like to help keep this topic to the front of everyone's mind, so you can check in on loved ones or even reach out to someone when you're in need.

Us blokes can sometimes struggle to find the time or know the right thing to say to a friend in times of need. However, Something I read recently from a cool project called 'The Shaka Project' helps highlight some simple steps for checking in with a mate.

1, Be honest and direct, let your mate know that you care about them and want to check in on how they're doing. Be honest and direct but also empathetic and non-judgmental.

2, Listen actively. Allow your mate to share their feelings and thoughts without interruption.

3, Offer support. let your mate know you're there for them and that you want to help. Offer support by suggesting resources, and support finding the right kind of help they need.

4, Checking in with your mate. Make sure to follow up and see how they're doing and encourage them to continue to get the support they need.

If you are in a position to donate we would be extremely grateful. However, if this is just as much about awareness, so call your mate you haven't seen in a while and check in.

If you're local to us and fancy joining us for a portion of the many, hit us up, all the support would be massively grateful! We will be completing this challenge on the weekend of the 2nd of September. Look to be starting at 5/6 pm Friday and continuing through until 5/6 pm Sunday.

Thanks in advance!
