This Go Fund Me has been established to help and support my friends Raven, Isabel and Italia Gennaro as they face another major health challenge together as a family.

The backstory of this story is their beloved Gary, husband to Raven and father to the girls, bravely fought two very different and rare types of cancer for seven months until he passed eleven years ago, October 3, 2012. Gary didn’t know of his own condition until the cancer had already formed and spread throughout his body. It has also been discovered these cancers are passed genetically so Gary and Raven’s daughters have been closely monitored since this was brought to light.

Fortunately, the medical community has been aggressive and forward thinking in their treatments. At their advice, and to prevent a devastating diagnosis down the road, Italia has proactively decided to opt for surgery. That procedure is happening on Monday, October 30th in Hershey.

Isabel and Raven will be by Italia’s side as they have been through every heartbreak and challenge they’ve faced.

During the hospitalization and recovery time, Raven and Italia will miss a significant amount of work and can use your financial support. Italia will not be able to return to work until she is healed and cleared by her physicians, and Raven, having recently stepped back into the work force, hasn’t accrued extended leave or many PTO days. She will be unpaid on days she’s home caring for her daughter.

Many have reached out asking what they can do to help and support Italia, Raven and Isabel; contributing to the Go Fund Me is one way, in addition to your prayers, calls, cards and other support.

These funds will be used to offset medical and travel expenses, in addition to assisting the family with household expenses.
