Anyone who knows my Aunt Jan (Jan Jenkins), knows her strength, kindness, and resilience. She has always been the one to show up for others & now it’s our turn to rally around her.

On September 2nd, my aunt (Jan Jenkins) went into abdominal surgery to remove a questionable mass. What should have been an outpatient procedure, ended up with an overnight stay. During surgery, doctors discovered a ruptured tumor. While they were able to remove part of the tumor, some of it could not be taken out because it is located on an artery.

On September 5th, path results came back. Jan is diagnosed with malignant sarcoma and now faces ongoing treatment including specialist oncology care, chemotherapy, and long-term recovery.

Because of this diagnosis, Jan will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. The weight of medical expenses, everyday bills, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead is overwhelming.
